TAITE

Kwe’ | Hello! I’m Taite Wooldridge (he/him). I am a proud Mi’kmaq and member of Abegweit First Nation. As a grass dancer, I’ve had the honour of serving as both Head Dancer and Junior Head Dancer at Mawiomi’s across Epekwitk. For over five years, I performed with the Mi’kmaq Heritage Actors in hundreds of shows, and I was part of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2023 Canada Winter Games and the opening ceremonies of the 2023 North American Indigenous Games.

Since Fall 2023, I have been a member of the Child and Youth Advisory Committee to the PEI Office of the Child and Youth Advocate.

I am passionate about sharing my culture, protecting rights, amplifying marginalized voices, and promoting inclusion and equity. I believe every child and teen deserves to be safe, supported, and healthy - and today, ensuring safe education and home environments is my top priority.
