GEORGIA
My name is Georgia Wood, I’m 11 years old and live in Charlottetown. I recently joined the Child and Youth advisory Committee as I feel it is very important for kids to have a voice. This is important to me because I am a student with a learning challenge that makes being part of a regular classroom environment difficult at times. Having Dyslexia and restless legs means I have needed to advocate for myself to access learning accommodations so that I can take part at school equally with my friends. I want other kids to know that they are not alone if they have a disability that makes life hard for them. I hope I can help them with encouragement and advice from my own experiences.
I really care about others and value friendships. I want to be the best friend possible and to do my best at everything I put my mind to. I really care about animals as well and ensure that during the year, I participate in bake sales to help animals in need. Being positive and having a ‘can-do’ attitude is most important and I hope to encourage others to find their passion and get involved in their community to support good causes.
